So I got another box of Kao Prettia Marshmallow Brown hoping it’d lighten my hair a bit more this time… if you’re just now catching up, please click here to read my review and results of the first try!
Here is an update on my color, though. You can see how my roots are already coming in rather noticeably.
I used the same process as I did last time, except that I blasted it under the cap with a hairdryer for about 15 minutes, let it process for 30 minutes, then did the hairdryer again for another 15 before rinsing it out. I used the teensiest smidge of Kao Rich Premier shampoo to work out the dye, then used the L’oreal Evercreme Cleansing Conditioner to “wash” again, and finally followed up with the included After Color Hair Packet, which I left in for 10 minutes and then rinsed out.
Here are the results:
Not as dramatic a difference as last time. It covered my roots very well, but barely lightened the rest of my hair and again, my ends are much darker than my scalp. I may try one more time with the Kao Prettia line but it seems it just won’t lift as much as I’d like. I think I’d get better results using a lightener and then dying. Still, it’s very gentle on my hair and a very fool-proof way to dye! I still recommend this line, especially for girls who are new to at-home hair color.
